Summer brings over a decade of experience in global corporate, finance, and real estate finance transactions to S.A. Law, including her previous role as a senior attorney in a Chambers ranked Banking and Finance group at an Am Law 100 law firm. She advises a wide variety of businesses on corporate matters, including formation, management, and compliance. Summer represents both borrowers and lenders in large, middle, and small market C&I transactions, in connection with a variety of financing structures, including secured and unsecured financings, asset‐based lending, cash‐flow based lending, syndicated and bilateral lending, first and second lien mezzanine lending, fund finance, real estate financing, acquisition financing, debt and equity financing, warehouse financing, preferred equity, participations, factoring, and distressed debt. She is skilled in loan workouts, including forbearance agreements, loan assumptions, and foreclosures.

Summer clerked for Justice Jeffrey Boyd of the Texas Supreme Court, where she authored many opinions that became Texas law.

Summer is an active member of the Tarrant County Bar Association and the Tarrant County legal community, as well as the broader Texas legal community, which she serves in a number of ways, including her pro bono work.

Summer was named to the 2016 through 2020 editions of Texas Super Lawyers® “Rising Stars” list and was recognized in the 2021 and 2022 editions of The Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” for her experience in banking and finance law.

Summer is licensed to practice in both Texas and California, and has represented clients in states across the nation, including Texas, California, New York, Illinois, Florida, and Delaware.

Summer attended Pepperdine Caruso School of Law in Malibu, California, where she was published in and editor of the Pepperdine Law Review.

 

When she isn’t working with her clients, Summer loves spending time with her family outdoors, at sporting events, and traveling as much as possible.
